Cavern Diving, Cave Diving at it's best! |
AND WHERE TO STAY... | |
|
You have come to the right website for a wealth of information concerning Florida's Springs and Cave systems.
Underwater caverns and caves can be quite seductive to open water scuba divers.
Curiosity can sometimes overpower good judgment and self preservation,
occasionally resulting in tragedy. Any type of diving encompasses the use
of common sense and following important
safety rules (see below), especially while diving the overhead environment
which might prevent you from seeing the grim reaper... |

The best way to avoid problems is Proper Training, having the proper attitude, and proper Equipment. |
||
|
|
Preoccupation with the "right" gear configuration has taken priority over the students comfort level and enjoyment . We do not belief that there is only one way to wearing equipment just as no one type of sneaker is recommended for all joggers. Equipment should be functional, streamlined, comfortable and safe. Your gear configuration should constantly evolve into something better and more efficient.

Suwannee River Valley cave diving sites, without a doubt, is highly visited, and are among the most popular cave diving sites in the world, located in North Central Florida. Most of the world's cave divers learn their skills right here in the heart of cave country. They are not only the most popular sites, they are without a doubt, the most suitable for new cave divers since they form a variety of conditions, including high and low flow, large and small passageways, silt and silt-free bottoms. No where else will you encounter the diversity these sites offer you. We cover all of these sites in our courses, since no one site can offer this array. Most of the systems listed are located in the Suwannee River Valley which forms a triangle. We are located only 20 minutes in any one direction from any of these sites. Visit Picture Gallery for more detail information on the cave systems... |

daily water levels of the rivers in the Suwannee River Basins. Hit the
"Back" button on your computer to return to this page.![]() Registration: To register for this course, a deposit of $100.00 is required. Please be aware that enrollment in an NSS-CDS/NACD course, at any level, does not assure certification. Due to the risks involved in penetration cave dives involving the use of one-third gas supply in double cylinders, only those students who meet specific performance criteria will earn their certification. Of key importance as the diver progress from Intro Diver to further within the cave environment is above-average buoyancy control, trim control and propulsion technique, a high degree of comfort in the water and a high degree of awareness of the environment. Water skills include a low light exit drill, air-share exit drill, no-lights exit drill, no lights and air-share exit, lost line drill and fundamentals of complex navigation. |

A testimony from Mr. John Bennett |

"Mike I would like to thank you for taking me through your Full Cave program. Being a full time Technical Instructor Trainer and more importantly a very active "cutting edge diver" I fully appreciate the exceptional quality |
| of the courses you took me through. We
completed seven different systems during the courses. I feel this is
important as it gave me experience in seven different caves from springs to
siphons, each was unique and helped in the learning curve.
The skills and drills you have incorporated into your program such as the "line entanglement" problem along with repeated emphasis on "Accident Analysis" far exceeded what I have expected. The program really hammered home to me the realities of cave diving. It gave me not only the certification to go cave diving; it gave me the tools and skills to complete the most important part of any cave dive. To come home safely. Great course Mike. I am honoured to have been trained by you. As Arnie once said "I will be back"!. Your Friend, John Bennett." |

Michael is also an NSS, IANTD, and TDI instructor-providing comprehensive training in cavern, full cave, and technical diving. Guided tours are available in northern Florida, and dive trips are scheduled to the Yucatan, Cozumel, Akumal, and Mexico. Let me share my passion cave diving with you, along with the wealth of information and experience I have gather over these many years. There are no short cuts in my courses. Thank you for visiting with us. Michael O'Leary |
