The Nitrox Course is an entry level certification for divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EANx) and provides recreational divers a safer breathing medium for enjoying dives in the 40ft (12 meters) to 130ft (39meters) depth range. The objective of this course is to train divers in the nitrox mixtures from EAN22 to EAN40. The diver may elect to dive on Nitrox tables, or conservatively use their dive computers, or air tables for an added safety margin.
This course is suitable for both Open Water Divers and the cave diver. Dive gear must be suitable for the environment in which the course is taught. Because oxygen content is 40 percent and less, no specially oxygen cleaned equipment is necessary.
The Nitrox Course is one day - two dives will be required. This certification is obtained through TDI, Curriculum consists of class sessions, labeling procedures for EANx tanks and an understanding the process of properly analyzing gas mixtures.
The Nitrox course can be adaptable to being taught as a single program such as Cavern Course, Apprentice Course, Introduction to Cave Diving and the Full Cave Diving Course or to be combined with a variety of Advance or Specialty Diver Courses.
Prerequisites: Open Water Diver certification and a minimum of ten logged dives. Price: Private $200.00; 2 or more students $150.00 per student The above course fees do not include certification card, admission fees (where applicable), books or gases. Rental equipment is available if necessary.
Certification: TDI, IANTD
